1) Current crest factor: ballast shall have a lamp current crest factor <1.7
2) Open circuit voltage: 600V
3) EMI and RFI limits: ballast shall comply with the limits of FCC part 18C for consumer
equipment
4) Starting temperature: ballast shall have a 0°F minimum lamp starting temperature
5) Potting: ballast shall contain potting compound for proper dissipation of heat,
mechanical stability
6) Lamp/power lead configuration: ballast shall have lamp/power lead access from
the sides of the can
7) Circuit configuration: ballast shall be instant start with parallel circuit configuration
8) Sound rating: ballast shall be sound rated class A
9) Power factor: ballast shall have minimum power factor of 99% on primary lamp configuration
